Our client was charged with cultivating a significant amount of cannabis with intent to sell or supply.
Through successful negotiations with the prosecution a plea of guilty was entered on the basis of supply only. We asserted at sentencing that there was no commerciality with respect to the growing of cannabis.
The court imposed a community based order and granted a spent conviction, allowing our client to retain their employment without the risk of a criminal record affecting their career.
This was an excellent result in the circumstances.
